Effect of texturing region on friction properties of journal bearings at different rotational speeds

Abstract The effect of texturing area on the friction properties partially textured bearing at different rotational speeds was investigated theoretically. Four configurations are limited surface from oil film fracture zone smooth (200º to 360º) in direction with eccentricity ratios. results show that coefficient can be reduced compared bearing. decreases greater increasing texture depth fixed speed. When configuration starts ratio 0.4 or 0.6, bearings perform better speeds.
